I’m Jamie, a Tłı̨chǫ photographer based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and I was raised in Behchokǫ̀, NT. I discovered photography when I was 14, starting out with an iPad and a dream - literally. I began by teaching myself how to edit photos, and not long after, I held a camera for the first time. The rest was history.

I started my business at 18, and now, with almost 12 years under my belt, I can’t say I’m an expert - but I do know a thing or two. Photography has always been more of a learning journey than a destination for me, and that’s part of what keeps me inspired.

Over the years, I’ve worked across many genres - newborns, families, weddings, community events, and everything in between. Eventually, I found my rhythm in creative editorial, fashion, and commercial photography. That’s where I feel I truly thrive. But don’t be surprised if you still catch me photographing a gathering or conference - community will always be part of my work.

Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to speak at events about my journey as a photographer, host workshops, and facilitate programs focused on business and entrepreneurship - another passion of mine. I truly love connecting with people beyond the camera.
